Sagamore 8-Year Old Bottled in Bond straight rye whiskey marks our commitment to the highest levels of excellence and authenticity – furthering our mission to make Maryland distilled, aged, and bottled products. Enacted in 1897, the bottle-in-bond distinction marks distilling quality and transparency. Distilled in the spring of 2018 at our Maryland distillery, this rye whiskey is a blend of two rye mash bills-a high rye and a low rye – showcasing flavors of rye spice from our grain, fruit and floral notes from our sour mash fermentation, and toasty caramel from our barrel aging.
A rich, full-bodied Maryland rye with layers of powdered sugar, soft leather and baking spice on the nose. The palate opens with grilled peaches and brown sugar, balanced by a touch of sweet cherry. The finish is warm and lively, with notes of rye bread, baked apple crumble and light maple syrup lingering through the final sip.
